Origin: Wadebridge, Cornwall, England
Style: Amber Ale
Cornish brewers Sharp's have built a solid raft (ONCOMING PUN...) of nautical themed beers - or more specifically coastline themed - most notably the widely-stocked Doom Bar. Each being named after a local spots dotted around the Cornish coast. As the marketing blurb puts it:
"Inspired by and named after one of Cornwall’s most dangerous offshore reefs located seven miles off Land’s End."
With this in mind the type choice matches the name perfectly - chiselled, harsh and a little aggressive. The die cut wave profile on their labels is a lovely touch too. It's not a bad brew either. A little sweet but very drinkable.
